here’s a picture of the island from our fishing boat. sometimes, at night, there’s no wind and when you’re on the water its unreal- you can barely distinguish the sea from sky. i feel like i’m understanding my dad a lot more knowing how he was brought up. the other day we to an ATV and he brought me to a place down the coast and we bumped into a couple that were filming a baby fox. i told my co-workers the next day and it was too easy of a joke. ”it was a white fox, but it was brown”. the technical term for foxes here are white foxes (tigiganiaq) but their fur turns brown in the summer. when we made it to this place down the coast there was a family already fishing. so i was able to meet some young ladies there. there was a bon fire. good food, good company. although i’m a tad homesick its hard to leave not knowing when the next time i’ll have the opportunity to come back.
